The Bump Report – McBaby I – 8 Weeks

**This was written in September, early in my pregnancy. I am posting it here for the first time. 🙂

Remember those surveys that used to get passed around via email…and then later, on MySpace? I used to LOVE those things. This is my “Wow-I’m-Old” version of those early pre-web 2.0 surveys. 🙂

How far along? 8 weeks on the button!

Total weight gain/loss: I don’t weigh myself at home to keep myself sane, but at my appointment 5 days ago, I’d lost 3.3. I think that was due to my stopping the Insanity workout, so I lost muscle.

Maternity clothes? Not yet…

Stretch marks? No, thank God. And though I don’t even need it yet, I’ve started slathering my stomach with cocoa butter because I’m terrified of stretch marks.

Sleep: All the time. How can something so tiny make me THIS exhausted? I feel like I have narcolepsy!

Top moment of the week: Buying the cutest little KSU onesie as baby’s first gift. And then Brad taking a picture of it and making it his iPhone wallpaper. Be still my heart!

What I’m missing? Real coffee. I gave up my daily cup of coffee just to try to be as healthy as possible for McBaby, though I still treat myself to a half-caff latte here and there. But damn do I miss caffeine. And wine…specifically cold white wine enjoyed on a patio on a warm fall day. Sigh.

Movement: Nah

Food cravings: Fruit, salad with vinegar based dressing (italian, Greek). My cravings for Olive Garden salad were so intense that Brad and I went on Friday night and I ate a whole bowl of salad by myself. It was quite a scene.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Things at random. Like the thought of my leftover thai food right now makes me want to die.

Showing yet:  I have a bit of a puff…but I think I’m more bloated than anything.

Gender: I feel like it’s a boy! I always wanted a girl first, but now I picture a little mini Brad and my heart melts, so I’m content with either. 🙂

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Though my mood swings can give you whiplash.

Looking forward to: Making it thru the first trimester for peace of mind.
